The main steel production countries gathered in Berlin in November to discuss the problem of excess steel production capacity
German Ministry of Economic Affairs on Friday (October 6) said that Germany has invited several major steel production ministers and senior officials to participate in the November 30 meeting held in Berlin steel overcapacity.
"We want to discuss how to avoid the global steel market overcapacity to ensure a fair competitive environment." said by Matthias Machnig Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy.
According to the <German Economic Weekly>, officials of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) may attend the meeting, and members of the OECD Steel Association will also attend the meeting.
"Our goal is to avoid punitive tariffs on steel trade," Machnig said.
