Iran Crude Steel Production Rose 21%
According to the latest Worldsteel data, Iran's mills produced 17.9 million tons of crude steel from the beginning of January to the end of October, up 20.9% over the same period of last year.Iran crude steel output in October rose 24.2% YoY, reaching the estimated 1.98 million tons.
Iran's steel market is in a period of rapid growth. During the past 10 months, Iran's monthly crude steel production increased by more than 1 million tons each, surpassing the neighboring countries Turkey and European rival France.
Regardless of the output of specific mills, Iran's crude steel output growth in the first 10 months of the year ranks 10th in the world and its crude steel output growth rate in October ranks 15th. Iran January-October produced 16.43 million tons of DRI, up 22.9% from a year earlier, making it the world's largest DRI-producing country. In October, the product output rose 46% YoY to 2.09m tonnes.
