India becomes the second largest crude steel producer in the world
On March 26, the latest data released by the World Steel Association revealed that India has become the second largest crude steel producer in the world. In February 2018, its crude steel output was 8.43 million tons, compared with 8.3 million tons in Japan.
In the first two months of 2018, crude steel production in India was 17.764 million tons, up 2.9% year-on-year; Japan crude steel production was 17.213 million tons, down 0.1% year-on-year.
