US and Japanese steel companies start to increase export prices of hot rolled steel plates
Foreign media reported that US iron and steel companies will increase the export prices of hot-rolled steel plates during shipments in June, while Japanese steel mills will also increase the export prices of hot-rolled steel plates by US$10/ton to US$30/ton.
According to the data, as of now, the price of hot-rolled steel in the United States has increased by 31.9% from the beginning of this year at US$652.6/ton, an increase of 32.4% year-on-year.Some people said that the price of hot-rolled steel in the United States has reached a peak, but others believe that the current price decline is only temporary. Some dealers stated that US mills are interested in further raising the price of hot-rolled steel.
In contrast, the price of cold rolled steel in the United States remains unchanged. At present, the prices of cold-rolled steel and galvanized steel in the United States are maintained at levels of US$1,000/tonne and US$1,020/tonne, respectively.
