Brazil's steel product consumption in July increased by 12.0% year-on-year
According to statistics released by the Brazilian Iron andSteel Association (IABr), the consumption of domestic steel products in Brazilwas 1.84 million tons in July, an increase of 12.0% year-on-year. The monthlyconsumption of domestic steel products in Brazil since April 2015 was new.
In July, Brazilian steel production was 3.02 million tons, up6.7% year-on-year. Among them, the output of steel plates was 1.14 milliontons, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year; the output of bars was 760,000 tons, anincrease of 5.8%.
In July, Brazil's flat steel output for automobiles and homeappliances was 1.13 million tons, up 13.3% year-on-year; the output ofconstruction and infrastructure bars was 710,000 tons, up 9.9% year-on-year.
In July, Brazilian steel products exported 1.22 million tons,a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. Among them, the export volume of semi-finishedsteel products was 807,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%.
From January to July, Brazil's steel product consumptiontotaled 11.9 million tons, an increase of 9.7%. Among them, flat steelconsumption was 7.27 million tons, up 11.1% year-on-year; bar consumption was4.63 million tons, up 7.7% year-on-year.
