Vale's iron ore output exceeded 100 million tons in the third quarter

On October 15, Vale released its third-quarter production andsales report. According to the report, in the third quarter, the output of ironore in Vale exceeded 100 million tons, reaching 104.9 million tons, and theannual production capacity reached 400 million tons. The pellet productionreached a new record in the single season, reaching 13.9 million tons. In thesecond quarter, it increased by 1.1 million tons. In the third quarter, salesof iron ore and pellets in Vale also reached a record high of 98.2 milliontons, which was 4.7 million tons higher than the previous record set in thefourth quarter of 2017.

Vale pointed out that the annual output of iron ore in 2018is 390 million tons, and the annual output of iron ore in 2019 and beyond is400 million tons. The results achieved so far this year, coupled with therelaunch of the St. Louis Pellet Plant in the third quarter, will supportVale's goal of achieving 55 million tons of pellets in 2018 and 60 million tonsby 2019.
