Global crude steel production in August 2019
In August 2019, the global crude steel output of 64 countries included in the World Steel Association statistics was 156 million tons, up 3.4% year-on-year.
China's crude steel output in August 2019 was 87.3 million tons, up 9.3% year-on-year. Japan's crude steel output in August was 8.1 million tons, down 7.8% year-on-year. South Korea's crude steel output in August was 5.9 million tons, down 2.6% year-on-year.
In the EU region, German crude steel production in August was 3.3 million tons, up 0.8% year-on-year. Italy's August crude steel output was 900,000 tons, down 26.7% year-on-year; France's August crude steel output was 1.1 million tons, up 11.2% year-on-year; Spain's August crude steel output was 1.1 million tons, down 4.6% year-on-year.
US crude steel production in August 2019 was 7.5 million tons, up 0.3% year-on-year.
Brazil's crude steel output in August 2019 was 2.5 million tons, down 13.4% year-on-year.
Turkey's crude steel output in August 2019 was 2.6 million tons, down 12.4% year-on-year.
Ukrainian crude steel production in August 2019 was 1.9 million tons, up 8.5% year-on-year.
